Sedation Dentistry
Dental anxiety or phobia can cause patients to neglect their oral/dental health to the point of experiencing severe pain and disease. Without proper preventative care and treatment, oral neglect may lead to more extensive, invasive and costly dental treatments and/or eventual tooth loss, which greatly affects quality of life.
Through Dr. Neman’s extensive education and experience, she has learned to use behavior modification as a first step to understanding her anxious patients’ needs. At times, it is necessary to use other modalities, such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and/or oral sedatives, to make patients feel comfortable getting the care they need. She also works closely with highly skilled anesthesiologists for patients who need more invasive or lengthy treatments.
